10 million Indian Professionals on LinkedIn – Infographic

More than ten million professionals now use the LinkedIn professional networking platform in India. Globally, LinkedIn (founded in 2003) has over 100 million professionals and continues to grow. LinkedIn started its India operations in 2009 with headquarters in Mumbai. It now has two more offices in Gurgaon and Bengaluru.

LinkedIn’s suite of Corporate Solutions have helped recruiters to reduce cost and time per hire in identifying and recruiting some of India’s best talent. Members of LinkedIn India are using Answers, Groups and Polls to engage, collaborate, hire and even to grow business opportunities across the LinkedIn network. Continue reading

Infographic on Literacy Rate & Girl Child Population of India

The Indian Census 2011 Provisional report revealed a shocking fact of decreasing number of Girl Child (914 per 1,000 boys) than previous Census 2001(927 per 1,000 boys). It is an alarming sign, mentioned by all the media and progressive thinkers. Some blames the social structure for that, some the education. No I’m not starting a debate on it but somehow we have to look after the matter or at least think on it. So I started digging on it in my own way with the help of an online friend Reuben, who has very keen interest on census and try to keep himself indulged in social matters like this. Continue reading

Goodbye IE6, join the countdown to history

Finally Microsoft has decided to mercy kill IE6, one of its old family members and the browser is counting it’s last days from 4 Mar 2011 at ie6countdown.com. Many may feel sorry to say goodbye, but now all web developers designing websites (specifically corporate sites) can enjoy a “IE6 hack” free life :) .

The site shows a percentage breakdown of who uses the ten-year-old browser in what parts of the world, along with other links like “Join the cause”, “Educate others”,  and Internet Explorer 9 download. Continue reading
