CD Drive:/ not accessible – Incorrect Function

When you access the computer’s CD drive or DVD drive after you install a software or do some registry changes in Windows XP, you may receive the following error message:

Drive:/  not accessible - Incorrect Function

A quick Solution:

Right-Click on the CD drive with the problem

Select Properties

Go to Recording Tab

and then check the “Enable CD Recording On This Drive” box.

    Thank you I have been working on correcting this problem for a couple days with my web help from the manufacturer of my computer. This fixed the problem in 10 seconds

      I am happy that my little finding helped you out from unnecessary headaches. It was same with me, I was not able to get a proper solution for this error for quite a number of days, so I thought posting the solution for anyone with the same error could be a good help.
