A quick Solution:

Right-Click on the CD drive with the problem

UPDATE Nov 2010 – Note that if you do not see the Recording tab in the CDROM burner properties tab in Windows XP, some processes that may help is listed below:

Process 1: You might not have the IMAPI CD-burning servive running-
Go to Start > Run > Type services.msc > Hit Enter
Check if your ” IMAPI CD-Burning Com Service” is started. If not Start it.

(More details: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324129&Product=winxp )

Nero may have taken over and disabled the IMAPI service.

Process 2: If the service is not running and your burner still doesn’t have the Record tab, then examine if your drive is properly recognized as a burner:

(More details: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;316529&Product=winxp )

Process 3: Check if your PC has Easy CD Creator 5 Basic / Roxio installed. If, then uninstall that program, restart the PC and now the recording tab should appear.
