VirtualBox – Space Problem?

I was stuck some days back with space problem in my Virtual hard disc, which runs with VirtualBox. It was deactivating & locking the screen within a minute I started it.

It was a quite panic situation. My operating system at that time was Ubuntu Karmic.

Get an icons only firefox bookmarks toolbar

Every now and then you create a bookmark link by dragging the website shortcut icon to the firefox bookmark toolbar.

Everything is fine, but after a while you cannot find all the frequently visited websites in the toolbar because it gets hidden after you have added lots of bookmarks to the bookmarks panel and you have to click the “>>” link to find and go to that site.

Easily Install Adobe AIR and TweetDeck on Ubuntu Karmik

Today I tried to install TweetDeck in Ubuntu Linux. It is a desktop application for different social networks. The main feature being to stay updated on Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and LinkedIn.

Quicktime is useful for playing embedded midi file types from within the browser in windows.

Clicking the “Install missing plugins” button in firefox brings up Apple QuickTime, which you mostly have installed in windows. But it still does not work.

Many web sites that you may visit will have embedded media that requires the use of a plug-in for playing these embedded “midi” background music files.

When somebody opens a web page or may be an eCards site which is supposed to have a background music, we get the banner in Firefox “Additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page”, and there is a button “Install missing plugins

Solved a Dropbox install error in UBUNTU Jaunty easily

To my utter dismay after twice restarting the PC and nautilus too, I could not use dropbox. The link was sitting perfectly in Applications> Internet> Dropbox but right after clicking it the tray icon flashed in the system tray/notification area for a few seconds and then vanished.

Pidgin not connecting to Yahoo Messenger (YM) in UBUNTU

Unable to connect MSN through pidgin in Ubuntu

From few days, I cannot connect to my Msn account. I use Pidgin Universal Chat client to connect to my multiple network Instant Messenger (IM) accounts i.e for my home and work like Msn, Yahoo, Google etc. in one single interface.
